Introduction
Firstly, let me say welcome to Gaps in the Past, the blog/podcast, which seeks to dive into times in our collective history that were to an extent brushed over, though maybe I just wasn't paying attention in school. I'm no historian, by any measure, but what I am is easily intrigued by a variety of weird subjects. My current audience of my girl friend, parents, sister, and friends aren't exactly keen to hear about my typically buzzed ramblings about my current fascination. Not everyone at my thanksgiving dinner table wants to hear about the absolute mess Europe was in after World War II after three glasses of wine, though I have found that after five glasses or more my audience is typically more willing, or less able to interject.
Hopefully, the internet will provide me a more willing audience, though I will probably force my parents to listen to my (hopefully) articulate ramblings from audio rather than the horses mouth. I would hope a semi-prepared podcast would be more organized, and at least presented in a slightly more sober state of mind.
I would like to make a shout out to Dan Carlin of Hardcore history; the man who has truly laid the foundation for history podcasts. I can only hope to shed a light in comparison to you works, please keep up the podcasting
